We went
to bed last night with a decision of which way to take hanging over our heads.
We were 2 days away from home and looking forward to getting there as soon as
possible. There were two route options both of which are the same distance.
The first option was to ride an hour to the Zimbabwe border and get the
formalities out of the way early and ride through Zimbabwe via Harare and the
second option was to ride to Livingston in Zambia and get to the Zimbabwe
border 4 hours later. This would mean dealing with the border formalities at
midday and ride through Zimbabwe via Bulawayo. We settled for the former. We
won't go into details of what we went through at the border!
We rode hard with about 758km to cover and decided to have lunch just outside of Harare so we wont have to stop in in the city and waste time. We rode the 753km and got to a town called Masvingo at sunset, we booked ourselves at some dodgy hotel, had 1 beer each, lousy dinner and passed out with one thing in mind HOME!
